Biography

• She decided to become a software engineer or Criminal Psychologist
• She was a patient of Asthma from her tender age of 10.
• Her father and mother both physicians and serving in the Indian Army.
• Her father Ashok Chopra, who being a lovely father manages her future, was diagnosed with a tumor in his liver and he had to undergo a complicated emergency surgery.
• She was born in Jamshedpur,Jharkhand,India, and during her early age also spend sometime in Breilly, 
• Uttarpradesh and Lucknow, India, which was due to her father being an Indian Army Doctor have to re-located.
• She lived in so many places in her tender age like Jamshedpur,Delhi,Pune, Lucknow, Bareilly, Ladakh, Chandigarh & Ambala. But she considers Bareilly as her home-town, and still maintains strong connections there.
• Again after re-located in US, she started her studies in Newton's Newton North High School and then in Cedar Rapid's John F. Kennedy High School, Massachusetts & Iowa,USA, respectively. 
• While in Boston, she participated in several theater productions, and studied Western classical music, chorus and choir singing, and Kathak dance.
• Priyanka Chopra returned to India and finished her high school education at Army Public School in Bareilly.
• Then in 2000 she got admition in Jai Hind College and Basant Singh Institute of Science, Church Gate, Bombay,
• India, where she got a chance to success and during this period she won a local beauty pageant called "May
• Queen" which later on become a real Crown owner which has been awarded her as "Miss India-2000", and in the meantime she have to discontinue her education.

• In the same year of 2000 She was also got success to won a huge crown of  "Miss World-2000". Which year later was announced to be a year of Indian Beauty Queens - like Lara Dutta & Dia Mirza were also crowned as "Miss Universe" & "Miss Asia Pacific" respectively.
• When Chopra won the Miss World crown, she became the fifth Indian to win the title, and the lucky fourth to do so in a span of long seven years.
• After completion of her responsibilities being a prestigious Beauty Queen, she preferred her appearance in the tinsel screen of India in a Tamil movie "Thamizhan".

As a Singer

• It is quite worthy to mention here that she is a very briliant singer and She made her singing debut by recording the song "Ullathai Killadhe" in the Tamil film Thamizhan (2002) as her voice came into the ears of her director as well as co-stars heard her singing a song on the sets but She declined an opportunity to sing "Tinka Tinka" in her film Karam (2005), as she wanted to concentrate on her acting career, but later sang the song live on the TV program Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, and she also performed being a Playback Singer in "Barsaat" (2005). In the meantime she also recorded a song for the film "Bluffmaster" but unfortunately it was not released.
• 2011 - She signed a worldwide recording agreement with Universal Music Group and DesiHits to record and release her first studio album. Troy Carter, CEO of Atom Factory, and who also manages Lady Gaga, was appointed by Priyanka Chopra as a Manager for her music career.
• Her first Studio album will be released by Interscope Records in North America and by Island Records elsewhere.
• Priyanka Chopra spent her time in Los Angeles to work with her record label to complete her album. She has collaborated with artists such as Sam Watters, Matthew Koma and Jay Sean. The album which is produced by RedOne is currently in the final stage of mixing and production and is scheduled to release in early 2013.
• Her debut single, "In My City", was released in September 2012 and was a commercial success in India. The song, featuring rapper Will.i.am, was produced by RedOne and was said to be inspired by the many cities that she lived in while growing up, and her journey from a small-town girl to a celebrity.

• The song was a commercial success, selling more than 130,000 copies within the first week of its release, and was certified triple platinum in India. She later received three nominations at 2012 World Music Awards, including Best Female Artist, Best Song, and Best Video for "In My City".
• Following the release of her first single, Chopra recorded an electronic dance music track with the American disc jockey and producer duo. The Chainsmokers called "Erase" as a featured artist; the song was released to iTunes Store on December 4, 2012, for digital download.

As Philanthropist

• Her Special working success for the humanity is recognized every where in the World and won a title that she is the one only and Indian in the USA to have been selected at the state level for the National Opus Honor Choir, extensive charity work back in India and the USA, and joined the CAF and CII in their literacy program and is their ambassador. Member of the support group for the Thalassemic children in U.P., India, participated in the adult education awareness program with the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the peripheral areas of Bareilly, joined the hands with the Government of India,which was sponsored Polio Eradication Program being a volunteer.
• She struggled in raising funds for the destitute in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, by participating in a church program.
• February, 2005 - Priyanka Chopra participated in the HELP! Telethon Concert to help raise money for the victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake with other Bollywood actors.
• 2006 - An auction on eBay India opened bids to help the auction winner spend a day with Chopra. All proceeds from the auction were donated to a NGO called Nanhi Kali which helps to educate the girl children in rural and urban India.
• She especially to serve the socially retarted persons being a real Humanity Welfare Worker. 
• Priyanka Chopra supports various charities including NDTV's Greenathon, an initiative to support eco-friendliness and look into lack of electricity in rural villages. She featured in an animated video alongside children to support the cause.

• 2009 - Priyanka Chopra shoot a documentary for the organization, 'Alert India', to spread awareness about 'leprosy'. Later, the documentary was presented at a charity dinner which was hosted by Priyanka Chopra herself.

• She joined hands with "Wave", a philanthropic organization that works for the cause of women.

• She also launched a "Save the Girl child" campaign through which she urged couples not to go in for abortion when they find out that they are soon to become the parents of a baby girl.
• 2010 - She was appointed as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2010, joining Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan and actress Sharmila Tagore for supporting UNICEF’s work regarding children all over the world.
